Villa Organic AS oppnådde i første kvartal 2010 et resultat før skatt på 14,9 millioner kroner, mot -6,5 millioner kroner i første kvartal 2009.

Highlights – First quarter 2010
- Villa achieved the best operating profit in the company history in the first quarter. The EBIT was 19,4 MNOK and net profit before tax 14,9 MNOK.
- The harvested volume in Finnmark was 3 311 tons.
- Growth in biomass in Finnmark and Møre has been lower than prognosis, due to lower sea temperatures.
- By the end of the quarter Villa Arctic in Finnmark has only salmon in the sea as Trout was harvested out.
- Villa has started implementation of a cost reduction program, which will give positive effect on production costs.
- Market has been steady with increasing prices.
Production in the first quarter has been modest, due to very low sea temperatures. In Finnmark the temperatures in March were about 1-1,5C lower than prognosis. In addition it has been challenging to harvest in extreme low temperatures causing higher mortality. The process of streamlining production is ongoing, and key performance indexes are put high on the agenda.
